Coolangatta, the champion racehorse who won the Lightning Stakes, Moir Stakes, and Magic Millions, has recently been sold and retired from racing. The 4YO mare has been purchased by Coolmore Stud and will now embark on a new journey as a mother. Coolangatta will be paired with the renowned stallion Home Affairs, known for his exceptional bloodline and success in the racing world.
The sale of Coolangatta has garnered significant attention, as it is rumored that she was sold for an astonishing amount. Despite being purchased for $280,000 as a yearling, she is believed to have fetched a record-breaking price of up to $5 million as a mare off the track. Such a high price is a testament to her remarkable racing career and the potential of her offspring.

In a post on social media, Ciaron Maher racing said, "Our Queen is set to become a Mum".
"Coolangatta has run her last race as she's been sold and retired to stud," they said.
"Her journey from the paddock to dual Group One winner is one that we're so proud of.
"She took her owners, and our team, on a ride that went around the world and delivered moments that we will cherish forever.
"She couldn't be going to a better home than Coolmore Australia and we can't wait to meet her babies soon. Thanks for everything Cooly."
Coolangatta participated in her final race at the prestigious King's Stand Stakes held at Royal Ascot, where she unfortunately faced a significant defeat.
Ciaron Maher Racing bloodstock manager Will Bourne told ANZ Bloodstock News, "She is the most expensive mare (off the track) ever sold in Australia, so the offer wasn't to be sneezed at."
Coolangatta has participated in nine races, winning five of them and earning a total of $3.08 million in prize money.
