The Juddmonte International at York later this week will be headlined by Aidan O’Brien’s Paddington, John and Thady Gosden’s Mostahdaf and Nashwa, and The Foxes, trained by Andrew Balding, complete the line-up.
Paddington has won his last four Group One races, including the Irish 2,000 Guineas and the Sussex Stakes, making him the top 3YO horse. Mostahdaf, winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, will be competing in his first race since that victory.
Upcoming Races: Bay Bridge Out, Castle Way In, And More
Sir Michael Stoute’s Bay Bridge will not be running, as last year’s Derby hero, Desert Crown, sustained an injury. The Gosdens’ Gregory will be competing in the Sky Bet Great Voltigeur Stakes with the Queen’s Vase winner, Castle Way, trained by Charlie Appleby. King Edward VII Stakes runner-up, Continuous, is O’Brien’s contender for the Gordon Stakes, while Canberra Legend and Artistic Star represent James Ferguson and Ralph Beckett, respectively.
In the Tattersalls Acomb Stakes, six horses will be competing, including Ballymount Boy, who finished second in the Richmond and saw his form improve when his Goodwood conqueror, Vandeek, won the Gr.1 Prix Morny on Sunday. Edwardian is O’Brien’s pick, with Cogitate, Hot Fuss, Indian Run, and Loose Cannon also running.
Overall, the Juddmonte International promises to be an exciting race, with some of the best horses in the world competing against each other. Fans of horse racing can look forward to a thrilling day of competition at York.
