Tiz Invincible is considered one of the top contenders in the Flight Stakes, a highly anticipated race featuring some of the best 3YO fillies in Australia. This exciting event, scheduled to take place at Randwick this Saturday, is a highlight of a fantastic ten-race program.
Let's take a closer look at the runners in the 2023 Flight Stakes:
1. Tiz Invincible: This filly has been performing exceptionally well in Sydney this Spring and is expected to confirm her dominance with a Group One victory. With three wins out of three races this season, including a brilliant performance in the Tea Rose two weeks ago, Tiz Invincible has shown impressive strength in the closing stages. The 1600m distance should suit her perfectly, and she is considered the one to beat.
2. Kimochi: Although she has been consistently competitive throughout the Princess Series, Kimochi has been unable to match Tiz Invincible's performance. It seems unlikely that she will be able to turn the tables in this race.
3. Tropical Squall: This filly has a good racing style, and her stable has a remarkable track record in this race. However, there is a slight concern about her ability to handle the 1600m distance, and she is drawn in a position that may require her to work hard to find the front.
4. Miss Joelene: She had a lackluster performance in the Tea Rose and appears to be outmatched by her competitors.
5. French Endeavour: Two races ago, she displayed her talent with a convincing victory at Hawkesbury. Although she faced tougher competition in the Tea Rose, she impressed me with a strong fourth-place finish behind Tiz Invincible, who is considered the top contender. However, her odds seem unappealing. I would rather place my bet on this filly, as she gives every indication of thriving over a mile distance.
6. Summer Loving: Unfortunately, she is still a maiden and has drawn an unfavorable position once again. It's difficult to consider her as a serious contender.
7. Mollynickers: This filly, trained by Moody/Coleman, should excel over a mile distance. In her previous race, the Atlantic Jewel, she showed great determination by making a late surge from near the back of the pack and finishing fourth, narrowly missing out on a better position. With a favorable inside gate, she should be able to secure a forward position and perform well.
8. Captain Amelia: This filly lacks the necessary skills to compete, especially considering her tendency to fall behind in races.
9. Private Legacy: Despite still being a young and inexperienced runner, Private Legacy has shown potential to excel beyond the 1600m mark. However, her current level of sharpness is lacking.
10. Tutta La Vita: Tutta La Vita caught everyone's attention with her impressive performance in the Tea Rose. With jockey Moreira on board and starting from a favorable gate position, she has the potential to find herself in a challenging position. Despite this, she demands respect from her competitors.
11. Autumn Angel: Autumn Angel appears to thrive in truly competitive races over the 1600m distance. However, the form surrounding her is not impressive, and Mollynickers seems to be the stronger contender from the Moody/Coleman duo.
12. Unique Ambition: Unfortunate circumstances prevented Unique Ambition from showcasing her full potential in the Tea Rose. She seems well-suited for the mile distance and has room to spare. However, there is a question as to whether she may require more ground, and there is a risk of her falling too far behind in the race.
13. Hasty Honey: Hasty Honey's performance in a recent Kembla maiden race was underwhelming, making her a clear underdog in the upcoming race.
