Mqse De Sevigne, who finished second behind the impressiveInspiral in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, will now compete at the Breeders' Cup over a distance of 10 furlongs.
A 4YO horse trained by Andre Fabre came to Rowley Mile with the goal of winning his third Group One race. Previously, the horse had won Prix Rothschild and Prix Jean Romanet in Deauville during the summer.
Although the horse had to settle for second place, his master trainer was pleased with his performance, and he lost nothing in defeat. The horse has finished either first or second in all six of his starts this season. He will now head to Santa Anita for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, where he excelled in his penultimate race by defeating Via Sistina from George Boughey's stable.
Fabre said, "I was pleased with the way she ran, she obviously needs a bit further and was beaten by a top-class filly.
"The Breeders' Cup is the plan and if she is in good shape she will go there. I think the two extra furlongs will suit her better.
"She was probably a bit backward and a bit unlucky in her races before. But I have been delighted with her."
Junko could potentially join Fabre's stablemate for the Breeders' Cup Turf, adding to his success at the Stateside showpiece. Fabre has already won the Turf three times before. Junko, a 4YO, recently beat Big Call in Deauville's Prix de Reux and will attempt to secure a spot in California by running in the Prix du Conseil de Paris this weekend. Junko recently missed out on a run at ParisLongchamp, making this upcoming race even more important.
"I will probably go for the mile and a half race with Junko," continued Fabre.
"He had to miss the Arc meeting, but he is going to run next Sunday and if he runs well and can get into the race he will run."
