Obamburumai, the Japanese raider, has arrived in Australia looking fit and ready to compete in the A$10 million Golden Eagle race next month in Sydney.
"He travelled well from Japan and has settled in over at Canterbury," Australian Turf Club Head of Racing and Wagering James Ross said.
"It's fantastic to be able to have our first Japanese runner here for the Golden Eagle, a race we've had a strong focus on trying to internationalise over the past four years, and we are starting to see regular (Japanese) participation in both carnivals.
"Equally to have Yutaka Take here to ride, who is a superstar in Japan and around the world, that will be very special."
In April of 1995, the pilot rode in Australia at Royal Randwick, and now, after nearly three decades, he will return to pilot Yoshimura's Japanese raider in the Golden Eagle.
Recently, several other promising internationals have continued their build ups for the carnival with three contenders contesting a jumpout at Canterbury on Monday morning.
Annabel Neasham's new addition Jimi Hendrix led throughout a 1200m hit out when defeating Charlie Hills' Galeron and the James Ferguson-trained Canberra Legend.
Jimi Hendrix is set to be aimed at the A$2m Five Diamonds at Rosehill Gardens on 11th November where he is a A$26 chance. Galeron (A$51) is being set for the Golden Eagle a week earlier while Canberra Legend heads to the Rosehill Gold Cup.
