The Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, which is one of the most prestigious races in the world, is scheduled to take place at Meydan Racecourse on March 30th. This race is a part of the Dubai World Cup night and is renowned worldwide. In 2023, the race was won by the Japanese sensation Equinox, who was later named the Longines IFHA World's Best Racehorse. Interestingly, the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic was adjudged as the second-best race in the world, losing out narrowly to the Japan Cup. As the official watchmaker of the event, Longines is proud to present this race and be a part of this iconic event.
The Dubai World Cup, established in 1996 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a testament to Dubai's reputation as a global hub for sporting events. This highly anticipated race celebrates excellence and innovation, and is recognized as one of the most prominent events on the international sporting calendar. Longines, the renowned watchmaker based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland since 1832, proudly supports the Dubai World Cup. Their sponsorship highlights the city's commitment to providing world-class entertainment, further strengthening Dubai's position on the global stage. Longines' involvement in equestrian sports is extensive, spanning across Endurance and Show Jumping, and including their support of the Dubai Racing Club. As part of their partnership, Longines presents two meetings during the Dubai Racing Carnival.
