Al Zwair produced a devastating late burst to secure the Msheireb Cup at Al Uqda Racecourse on Thursday, crowning a magnificent treble for jockey Pierre Charles Boudot.
The 5YO grey, owned and bred by Al Shaqab Racing and trained by Jean de Mieulle, displayed remarkable acceleration in the home straight to claim the 1400m Purebred Arabian Handicap by one and a quarter length from stablemate Al Khbaib.
Boudot's perfectly executed ride saw Al Zwair storm through from the rear of the field, overtaking the leading pack with consummate ease to register a comfortable success in the feature race for 4YOs and upwards.
Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi, QREC Racing Manager, was on hand to present the trophies to the winning connections.
The French rider's dominance had been established earlier when guiding the Injaaz Stud-owned and Zuhair Mohsen-trained Kerindia to victory in the 1400m Thoroughbred Fillies & Mares Plate for 3YOs and upwards.
Boudot completed his treble aboard Al Majd Stud's Khattab La Gloire, who romped home by seven and a half lengths in the 2300m Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for four-to-six-year-olds.
Just Bring It carried the Wathnan Racing silks to success in the 2200m Thoroughbred Handicap (80-100) for 4YOs and upwards. The Alban de Mieulle-trained runner prevailed by half a length under jockey Tomas Lukasek.
The day's proceedings had begun with Umm Al Shukhut Farm's Grace Secret taking the card opener, a Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for 3YOs, by a neck under Fayos Martin Borja.
