Michael Bell is weighing up Royal Ascot options for promising filly Spicy Marg following her commanding debut triumph at Newmarket during Guineas weekend.
The 2YO made a stunning first impression, winning a five-furlong novice contest by two and three-quarter lengths under Kieran Shoemark. Bell is now considering whether to give her another run before tackling the Berkshire meeting.
"She's in good form. We've ducked a couple of options but she's going to have an entry in the National Stakes at Sandown, and we will either go there or go straight to Ascot, everything's focused on the Royal meeting. The National Stakes is an option we may or may not take up," Bell explained.
The Newmarket trainer revealed he has been discussing various Royal Ascot possibilities with connections, keeping several doors open for the promising juvenile.
"I was discussing it with the owner. There's a multitude of races; we haven't made any set plans of which race she'll run in yet. She can run in one of four I think, so we don't know which one we'll go for. We'll decide nearer the time what we'll enter."
Meanwhile, Yashin continues thriving since transferring from Jessica Harrington's care, having immediately delivered for Bell when landing the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot.
The stayer will return to the same venue for the Gold Cup, with international opportunities potentially following. "He's going to run at Royal Ascot in the Gold Cup. It's a lovely race to take part in and he's in very good order and obviously Kyprios will be very, very hard to beat but he was bought to provide entertainment for his owners and that's what he is doing."
Bell outlined ambitious plans extending beyond Ascot, with Melbourne and Kentucky both under consideration depending on ratings and performances.
