Yulong spent a staggering AU$29.275 million (US$20,735,483) on 63 mares over three days at the Gold Coast during Magic Millions' National Broodmare Sale reiterating their commitment to leading the Australian Thoroughbred industry from the front.
has proved, without doubt, if there was any doubt before, that operation is a serious player in the Australian market.
The Yuesheng Zhang-owned operation currently consists of 350 top-quality broodmares at their Nagambie farm, located in Victoria's Thoroughbred breeding heartland in the fertile Goulburn Valley region.
Yulong contributed almost 24% of the sale's total turnover including three mares in foal to Juddmonte's champion sire Frankel, for a combined AU$3.89 million ($2,755,287) with Fantasy (Lot 1084) being the most expensive at AU$1.7 million ($1,204,110).
Offered by Coolmore, which owns the majority of grand producer Cassandra Go's extended family, an opening bid of AU$1 million ($708,300) was received for Fantasy and there was intense competition from thereon.
