Coolmore ensured that a star-studded broodmare band would visit new stallion Home Affairs this spring with the A$1.3 million purchase of Tangier at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Wednesday.
The blueblood daughter of Medaglia D’Oro, who is in foal to I Am Invincible, was offered as part of Godolphin’s 43-strong draft of mares and purchased by Tom Magnier, in conjunction with Mark McStay’s Avenue Bloodstock.
Out of the Exceed And Excel mare Essouira, Tangier is a full-sister to Golden Rose winner Astern and a half-sister to champion mare Alizee.
Coolmore’s Tom Magnier said she shaped as the perfect match for Home Affairs, who will stand his first season for A$110,000 on Coolmore’s Australian roster after he returns from a UK campaign aimed at adding an additional Gr.1 win to his CV.
