Beautiful Love aims to uphold Godolphin's flawless record in 3YO turf races at this season's Dubai Racing Carnival as she competes in a mile conditions race on 16th February.
All five contests on the surface restricted to the Classic generation have been won by horses trained by Charlie Appleby, including Legend Of Time, Star Of Mystery, Cinderella’s Dream, and Great Truth.
Beautiful Love, a Siyouni homebred, finished second behind Cinderella’s Dream in the Jumeirah Fillies’ Classic two weeks ago, showcasing her impressive staying power. Last year, she displayed a decent level of form over a mile in the UK, winning a Newmarket novice and finishing fourth in Listed company.
Her trainer Charlie Appleby said, “We were pleased with Beautiful Love in the Jumeirah Fillies’ Classic and stepping back up to a mile is going to suit. She heads into this in good shape and we are confident that she will be there or thereabouts.”
In the Lord Glitters Handicap over nine furlongs, Godolphin has entered five runners, including Imperial Emperor and Highbank who finished third and fourth respectively over the same course and distance in January's Lord North Handicap. Charlie Appleby will also be sending out First Sight in the same race, while Saeed bin Suroor will be relying on Meydan veteran Laser Show and White Wolf, who narrowly missed out on winning a handicap at last season's Carnival.
The Saeed bin Suroor-trained colt, Olympic Candle, who won at Ascot and Kempton Park last season, is the only 3YO in the evening's seven-furlong handicap. His opposition includes stable-mates Open Mind and Wild Lion.
In a mile maiden on the dirt, Nature Watch, a 4YO son of Curlin, will be making his third career appearance for Charlie Appleby.
