Henry Longfellow, an impeccably-bred Group One winner, is joining Coolmore's stellar stallion roster for the 2025 breeding season. The 3YO son of Dubawi will stand alongside the operation's established sires at their Tipperary headquarters.
The colt, out of the brilliant racemare Minding, showcased his talent with an unblemished record in his two-year-old season, culminating in a commanding victory in the Gr.1 National Stakes at the Curragh. Past winners of this prestigious race include the likes of George Washington (2005), New Approach (2007), and Dawn Approach (2012), who all went on to achieve Classic success.
His three-year-old campaign, while winless, demonstrated his consistency at the highest level. A neck second to Rosallion in the Gr.1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot highlighted his abilities, followed by creditable performances in the Gr.1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and Gr.1 Prix du Moulin at ParisLongchamp, finishing fourth and third respectively.
His final appearance came in the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day at Ascot, where soft ground proved unsuitable. Despite this, his connections are enthusiastic about his prospects at stud.
David O'Loughlin, Coolmore's director of sales, said: "He went unbeaten in three starts at two years, including the Gr.1 National Stakes just like his sire Dubawi, who is becoming a very significant sire of sires.
"He again showed top-class form at three over a mile when beaten just a neck by Rosallion in the St James's Palace Stakes.
"He's arguably the best-looking son of Dubawi to go to stud and he's out of one of the best Galileo racemares ever. I have no doubt that he will prove extremely popular with breeders."
The coveted colt's dam Minding was herself a six-time Group One winner, securing victories in the 1000 Guineas, Oaks, and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, amassing career earnings of over US$2.4 million during her illustrious racing career.
