Tom Ryan, co-owner of SF Racing, announced on social media that National Treasure will be transported to Riyadh for the Gr.1 Saudi Cup. After winning the Gr.1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational by a neck over Senor Buscador, the plans for the 4YO Quality Road colt trained by Bob Baffert were uncertain, but it seems that he will indeed participate in the Saudi Cup.
National Treasure, who has won three of his eleven career starts, including the 2023 Preakness and Gr.1 Santa Anita Derby, will compete with other top contenders such as White Abarrio, who won the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Classic and Whitney, and Lemon Pop, a two-time Group One winner who recently won the Champions Cup in Japan.
In addition, National Treasure finished second by a nose to Cody's Wish in the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile before winning the Pegasus.
