Military Order will be making his first appearance since the Derby in the Listed Chester Stakes at Chester, UK, on Saturday, 2nd September.
The horse who is the full-brother of the 2021 Derby and King George VI &Queen Elizabeth Stakes champion Adayar is now racing over a distance of a mile and three-quarters.
This comes after he was unable to beat a competitor in the Epsom Downs Classic back in June. Military Order, who won his second career outing at Newmarket last October, has had an excellent start to his 3YO campaign. He has already achieved two impressive wins, scoring by four lengths at Newbury before securing a decisive victory in the Listed Lingfield Derby Trial.
Charlie Appleby said, “Military Order has enjoyed a nice break since Epsom and we have been very pleased with how he has done physically over the summer. We had the option of running here or in France and were looking for the better ground for him – good, good to soft at worst – so hopefully we get those conditions at Chester.
“We feel that stepping up to this trip will potentially suit but we are very much dipping our toe to see where we are going into the autumn. If he happens to win well, he could put himself into the St Leger picture, and we are looking forward to getting him back on track.”
