The Dubai Trophy [Presented by DP World] will feature a field of ten at Meydan Racecourse, with the Classic generation being the main attraction on Friday. Al Dasim, a UK-trained horse, won the 1200-meter turf dash last year, and this year, six Brits are hoping to follow in his footsteps. Starlust, a Breeders' Cup runner-up, is the one to watch, having come in second to Star Of Mystery in the Al Wasl Stakes. Seven Questions, Great Truth, Myconian, Salvuccio, and Zoulu Chief are expected to re-oppose him.
Starlust, who is trained by Ralph Beckett and carries the silks of Fitri Hay, is expected to perform well. Frost At Dawn, a filly who will be making her fourth start of the Carnival, will also be racing. William Knight, her trainer, acknowledges that it's a bit aggressive to have her race again so soon, but he thinks that she could perform well in the six-furlong race against three-year-olds. The outnumbered local challenge includes Bombay Bazaar, who won twice in the UK for Richard Fahey and is making his local debut for Bhupat Seemar.
The AED300,000 Vazirabad Handicap [Presented by DP World], a 2410-meter turf race, is the main supporting race. It has attracted eight runners, including Seemar's Webinar, a winner over course and distance a month ago. Godolphin runs four, with Ruling Dynasty representing Appleby, who also runs dual winner Al Nafir. Military March and two-time course winner Global Heat line up for Saeed Bin Suroor.
Nevershow Weakness, a Lord Nelson gelding, aims to win his third race in the Jebel Ali Free Zone Handicap. The We One Presented by DP World Conditions event features Auto Bahn, a horse who won his only start in Argentina. Thunder Blue and Destructive, two UK-trained horses, also participate in this event.
The DP World Logistics Handicap, a 1200-meter dirt race, sees Mr. Kafoo attempt to win his third straight race for jockey Connor Beasley and trainer Ahmad Bin Harmash. The action starts with a 1600-meter Purebred Arabian contest at 5:30 pm and concludes with a 2000-meter turf handicap in which Shadwell's Wanees looks to be the favorite.
