Dubai Racing Club is staging a special race meeting at Meydan Racecourse tomorrow evening to celebrate Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's outstanding achievement at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he earned both the Sword of Honour and Sword of Excellence.
The eight-race card features the Gr.2 Zabeel Mile as its centrepiece, drawing a competitive field of international performers, alongside the Gr.3 Dubawi Stakes. Two special races, the Sword of Honour Stakes and Sword of Excellence Stakes, have been incorporated into the programme to mark the occasion.
Sheikh Rashed Bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, speaking about the significance of the event, said: "The Sword of Honour race night is not just a celebration of an individual achievement, but it is an expression of the values that define the UAE's ambition, hard work, and dedication. This event highlights the importance of investing in our youth and celebrates the achievement of Sheikh Mohammed, who is a role model for the next generation. We are delighted that Meydan Racecourse will be the venue for this unique celebration."
His Excellency Khalifa bin Aboud Al Falasi added: "The 'Sword of Honour' race night vividly embodies the Emirati spirit that always strives for excellence and leadership. The graduation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed, and his receipt of the Sword of Honour, is a source of pride for all of us and confirms the great potential of the youth of this country."
The meeting has attracted significant international support, with The Jockey Club and Churchill Downs joining forces with local sponsors Binghatti, Daman Securities, and Zoho. Phi Advertising is sponsoring the Zabeel Mile, which promises to be a highlight of the Dubai Racing Carnival programme.
