The opening day of the prestigious four-day Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF) 2025 burst into life as Qumriyah lit up the sea-facing arena at Cultural Village Foundation with a spectacular performance in the yearling fillies' class.
Under the watchful eye of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the morning session saw Qumriyah secure top honours with an impressive 91.57 points, showcasing remarkable grace and refined movement that had the judges spellbound.
In a closely fought contest, Hammama Al Salam matched the winner's score but had to settle for second place, while GJ Majestica claimed third with 91.43 points in a display of exceptional quality.
The excellence continued as Anhajeeah Al Shaqab dominated Class 1B, securing victory with 91.43 points. Mayyasa Al Zain claimed second place on 91.29 points, with Al Jowhara Abher completing the frame on 90.71 points.
The afternoon session saw the colts take centre stage, with Saif Al Wadi emerging triumphant in Class 4A on 91.43 points. Ragheed Al Sraiya claimed second spot with 90.86 points, while Lamah Ofuq (QA) secured third on 90.29 points.
However, it was D Sadn who stole the show in the final class, producing a commanding performance to post the day's highest score of 92.57 points. Ibn Al Naif secured second place with 90.93 points, as Al Rayyan Al Etaag rounded off the podium positions on 90.64 points.
The festival, bringing together the finest Arabian horses from across the globe, continues to showcase the breed's unparalleled beauty and nobility, with three more days of competition ahead at the Cultural Village Foundation.
