Marco Botti is contemplating stepping Great Generation up significantly in class following impressive form boosts that have strengthened the trainer's confidence in his sprinting filly.
The daughter of Kodiac secured back-to-back victories in Lingfield's Gr.3 Chartwell Stakes, establishing herself as a consistent performer at Group Three level. However, weekend successes from her former victims have transformed Botti's thinking regarding future assignments.
Jabaara's Musselburgh triumph and Spiritual's commanding Epsom victory have significantly enhanced the Chartwell form, prompting Botti to consider more ambitious targets for his seven-furlong specialist.
"Obviously she's a tough filly, but the seven-furlong trip is not an easy distance to make plans for as there are very few options," Botti explained. "She's in at Royal Ascot in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee, but I'm not sure if we go there or wait for the July Cup, or we could wait for the City of York and there's the Lennox at Goodwood."
The trainer emphasises improving Great Generation's profile remains paramount. "We want to improve her CV now. She's won a few Group Threes, so we want to be placed in a Group Two or even a Group One," he stated.
Ground conditions will influence decision-making, with Botti noting his filly requires firm surfaces to perform optimally.
