With a new year upon us so are the updated rating revisions out of the Dubai Racing Club.
Remorse (113) is the 5YO gelding has had 15 starts only being out of placings twice. The son of Dubawi and Jealous Again has four wins and has had three Group company starts and is trained by master trainer Bhupat Seemar. Partnered with Tadhg O’Shea they saw victory last start in The Listed Entisar over 2000m winning by a length over stablemate the bulking star himself, Bendoog.
Electrical Storm (8 to 100) the Godolphin runner who won the Nad Al Sheba Classic and in return received a massive bump in his ratings. Trained by Saeed bin Suroor he has this one win at Meydan from one start in the UAE.
Shirl's Bee (87) on debut this colt got it done breaking his maiden with the talented hand of Pat Dobbs guiding him over the 1600 metres. Trained by Doug Watson and still only two years old the son of Bee Jersey and Shirl’s Soul has plenty of racing ahead of him.
Al Nayyir (6 to 83) the gelded son of Dubawi won by a tight neck making it two victories from his past three starts – all at Meydan. Another Doug Watson runner is four years old and seems to relish the further distance of 2200 to 2400 metres.
Abshrek (81) The 5YO gelded son of Oasis Dream and Azanara broke through for his maiden in a dominant display winning by three lengths. Trained by Rashed Bouresly, he has run twice previously this season, but it was racing at Meydan with Adrie de Vries getting the ride and piloting him through for the first win.
Mimi Kakushi (18 to 80) got her strong rating increase after winning the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial by two lengths with Mickael Barzalona on board, the hoop now has two wins for the season. The 2YO filly has had three starts this season and broke the maiden in the conditions race after two fourth-place finishes.
Untold Secret (3 to 71) is the older 10yr old with eight wins to his name but having not won since October. Trained by Salem bin Ghadayer he was ridden by Mickael Barzalona for the eight time in the Shamardal-Confidential Lady gelding’s career. The win was by half a length and should instil greater confidence with refreshed form.
