Following the meet last night at Meydan the updated ratings have been released with five receiving a decent rise.
A huge difference between performances nine days apart have given this colt a big bump in ratings. On January 6 the 3YO finished 11th while nearly eighteen lengths of the leader but last night he turned around fortunes winning by 5.75 lengths and for his first win.
A 1200m dirt handicap proved a straightforward assignment for Magic Petition, a 3yo Good Magic colt and previously a maiden after three starts, trained by Ahmed bin Harmash for Mohammed Ahmad Ali Al Subousi.
Having had four starts for a win and two placings the son of Good Magic x Petition the Lady truly deserves the rating rise and Ahmad bin Harmash will have him fresh and ready for his next start.
The Doug Watson trained colt made it his first win for the treble following on from two second placings over the past three months. Has run second three times from five starts in tight finishes so looks to relish being greatly competitive. All starts to date for the 4YO Creative Cause colt have been at the Meydan track over ranging distances between 1400 through to 1900.
Back-to-back wins now show the ability of the 5YO gelded son of Dubawi. Sizing up as a genuine stayer and is keen to lay the challenge down to any opponent as shown in his battle with Withering coming away the victor by 1.25 lengths. Having made his local debut in March last year his first win came at Meydan in November winning by three lengths before returning to the winner’s circle in December.
A head bobbing win over Grand Dubai gave the 5YO her bump in ratings and a victory for trainer Doug Watson and part of a treble for him and hoop Pat Dobbs. She got a one length margin victory in November at the Meydan track
Having not won for three years the 7YO gelded son of Exceed and Excel turned back the clock to return to the winner’s circle. With Pat Cosgrove onboard he led at 400m mark and rolled on to take the win by a neck. Recording his first win at Meydan with his last win recorded at Jebel Ali in January 2020. Trained by Bhupat Seemar the Godolphin bred product showed his ability as a sprint star with the win and his rediscovered form.
