The Dubai Racing Club has revealed the full programme for the 2023-24 racing season at Meydan Racecourse. The season, which consists of 14 meetings, will begin on November 10th, 2023, and end on March 8th, 2024, culminating with the highly anticipated US$30.5 million Dubai World Cup meeting, scheduled for March 30th. The prize money for the entire season has been increased by 27% from the previous year, with a minimum prize of AED165,000 per race. The Dubai Racing Club hopes that the increased prize money and world-class facilities will continue to attract the best in the sport to race in Dubai.
Dubai Racing Club Unveils Diverse Programme For The New Season
The season will kick off with the opening ceremony on November 10th, featuring six Pattern races, including the Gr.3 Dubai Creek Mile. The action will ramp up on Festive Friday, December 22nd, when Meydan stages six Pattern races, including the Gr.2 Maktoum Mile, now worth AED1 million. The featured Gr.1 Maktoum Challenge, a notable prep race for the Dubai World Cup, is set to take place on Fashion Friday, January 26th, which stages nine Pattern races. The Gr.1 Jebel Hatta will also be held on the same day, with a purse of AED1.85 million.
Super Saturday, on March 2nd, will include the Gr.2 Al Maktoum Classic, upgraded Gr.3 Ras Al Khor, and the Listed Jumeirah Guineas. It is a popular social occasion, with a range of events and activities for all attendees. Major General Dr Mohammed Essa Al Adhab, Executive Director of Dubai Racing Club, expressed his excitement over the new-look season: “We are delighted to unveil the full programme for our exciting new-look season here in Dubai. The programme is diverse and caters for a wide range of horses, both Purebred Arabian and Thoroughbred.”
