Abdulla Fawzi Nass' horse, Bleak, emerged victorious in the Alba Cup. The 14th race of the season, organised by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), took place at the club's racetrack in the Al Raffa area in Sakhir, and all eight rounds were contested for Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) Cups.
Under Stephane Ladjadj the colt won the final round of 1,400m yesterday for Class 3, 4, and Maiden imported horses. Modmin, owned by HBR Racing, finished second.
Blues Queen, owned by M and E Racing, trained by Allan Smith, and ridden by Mathieu Pelletan, won the seventh round over 1,400m for locally bred class 1 graded horses. Social Distancing, owned by Al Adiyat Racing, took second place.
Man of Eden, owned by Al Afoo Racing, trained by Jaber Ramadhan, and ridden by Soufiane Saadi, won the sixth round over 1,800m for imported horses with handicap. Gulmarg, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, secured the second position.
The fifth round over 2,200m for imported horses with handicap was won by Sovereign Spirit, owned by Al-Afoo Racing, trained by Ramadhan, and ridden by Saadi. Illuminated, owned by Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, secured the second position.
Al-Afoo Racing had another victory with Anann in the fourth round over 1,000m for imported horses with handicap. Mohammed Hasan trained the winner, and Pelletan rode it. Swift Asset, owned by Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, finished second.
The third round over 2,400m for locally bred horses with handicap was won by Dalayil, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, trained by Haider Ebrahim, and ridden by Ahmed Maki. Haddar, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, finished second.
Campolina, owned by Ebrahim Rashid Syndicate, trained by Jaffar Radhi, and ridden by Rosie Jessop, won the second round over 2,000m for locally bred horses with handicap. Zomaan, owned by L & Z Racing, finished second.
Musannan 1881, owned by Al Khaldiya, trained by Fawzi Nass, and ridden by Jessop, won the opening round over 1,200m for class 3, 4, and maiden Waho horses. Tuwaisan 1844, owned by Al Riffa, finished second.
Alba chairman Khalid Al Rumaihi presented the main cup for the eighth round to the winning owner, Abdullah Fawzi Nass. The second and third round cups were presented to the winning owners, Ebrahim Rashid and Haider Ibrahim, respectively.
The cup for the fourth round was presented to the winning owner, Hadi Ibrahim Al Afoo. The cups for the fifth and sixth rounds were also presented to the winning owner, Hussein Ibrahim Al Afoo, and Ibrahim Al Afoo, respectively. Al Rumaihi presented the cup for the seventh round to Shaikh Isa bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, while Alba CEO Ali Al Baqali presented the first round cup to Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.
