Dubai's Meydan Racecourse is set to host several major races in 2024. The Dubai World Cup draws a sold-out crowd of notable horses, riders, and trainers, who eagerly watch races and performances by both experienced and novice horses in the lead-up to the big night. With the upcoming Dubai Carnival just four days away, excitement is already building, thanks in no small part to the participation of the American thoroughbred Nevershow Weakness, whose impressive track record at Meydan has generated a great deal of buzz.
Nevershow Weakness is a formidable competitor who lives up to his name by displaying unwavering determination and strength on the racetrack. He has already won two races in a row at Meydan, making it something of a home away from home for the American horse. The Dubai Racing Club has announced that Nevershow Weakness will participate in Race 6 of the Dubai Carnival, but he will face stiff competition from 15 other horses.
The Dubai Carnival's 2000-meter dirt race card shows that Secret Victory, Ajuste Fiscal, and Vagalame are the first three horses to enter the competition, followed by Crowd, Monaadah, and Celtic Prince. Aldous Huxley, Simjangui Godong, Sanad Libya, and Go Soldier Go round out the group from six to ten. The last six horses to join the event at Meydan Racecourse are Book Review, Street Mood, Nevershow Weakness, Sifting Sands, Al Jadaff, and Laresh. However, the Emirates Racing Authority has yet to confirm their gate positions, as there were not 16 horses on the grid the last time around.
On 5th January, the AZIZI Reve (Handicap) (Dirt) at Meydan Racecourse featured fast conditions on the 1m2f track. Excitement was high among fans, as Nevershow Weakness, the race's previous victor, returned to compete against eight other horses. The American equine and Lion's Mane were both impressive on the dirt track, with Green Jacket close behind. But Nevershow Weakness ultimately emerged victorious, displaying total dominance and living up to his name with a flawless performance in his first race of the 2024 season.
