Mark Casse, a familiar face at Royal Ascot, may return for more glory after Bullet's impressive victory in the US$106,000 Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies Stakes. Casse, who trained Tepin to win the Queen Anne Stakes in 2016, now has another potential contender for the prestigious event. Bullet, a daughter of War Front, secured a spot in one of the six juvenile races at Royal Ascot with her Gulfstream qualifier win.
Despite a slow start in her debut five-furlong race, Bullet showcased her potential by quickly storming from behind to clinch victory. Casse expressed his initial concern about the start but praised Bullet's resilience, indicating her promising future.
Casse told www.drf.com, "She's been on the 'A' team for us from the beginning. She's not a real big filly; she's just beautiful, and we sent her down there thinking about this race. And overcoming such adversity in her first start speaks volumes for her."
Drawing parallels to Crimson Advocate, who won this race before triumphing in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, Casse acknowledged the significance of the achievement and hinted at a potential trip to the UK.
Emisael Jaramillo guided Bullet to victory and triumphed aboard Gabaldon in another Ascot qualifying event on the card. Trainer Jose D'Angelo, eyeing a trip to Royal Ascot, praised Gabaldon's professionalism and confirmed the horse's readiness for the challenge. With owner Chester Bishop's confidence in Gabaldon's pedigree, D'Angelo is optimistic about the horse's prospects on the grass at Royal Ascot.
