Underdog White Abarrio Shocks Saratoga
During the exhilarating Whitney Stakes (Gr.1) held at Saratoga Race Course on August 5th, White Abarrio, trained by Rick Dutrow and owned by C Two Racing Stable and Antonio Pagnano, caused an upset by triumphing over Zandon, owned by Jeff Drown, and Cody's Wish from Godolphin. Cody's Wish had previously secured two grade 1 victories earlier this year in the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) and the Metropolitan Handicap (G1), but unfortunately, was less effective in the longer 1 1/8-mile Whitney Stakes.
Moving on to the next American contenders, Bruce Lunsford's Art Collector shares the 19th position with a rating of 121, while Up to the Mark, representing Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable, also holds the same rating, showcasing their prowess on the turf.
Reigning Eclipse Award-winning male sprinter, Elite Power, has tied for the 25th position with a rating of 120 after a sensational victory in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (Gr.1) at Saratoga on July 29th.
Bill Mott has the distinction of training Cody's Wish, Art Collector, and Elite Power, while Todd Pletcher is responsible for the training of Up to the Mark.
