Local Law Triumphs In Al Jumayliyah Cup

Local Law, owned by Saif Rashid Saif Al Khayarin, clinched the victory in the Al Jumayliyah Cup, the highlight race of the day at Al Rayyan Racecourse on Wednesday, with trainer Hamad Al Jehani and jockey Szczepan Mazur each completing a treble. The 6YO horse stayed close to the rail and tracked the leaders throughout the race. In the final 200m, Local Law showcased impressive acceleration and ran down the long-time leaders to win the race by a comfortable margin of two lengths.

The winners were honoured by Abdulaziz Jassim Al Boenain, Al Uqda Complex Manager. Al Jehani and Mazur secured their second wins of the day earlier when Texas Storm CS dominated the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate, Division 2. Al Jehani started the day with a win when Pherenikos, ridden by Soufiane Saadi, triumphed in the 1700m Thoroughbred Maiden Plate. Mazur also tasted success, guiding X Force to victory in the Thoroughbred Conditions title.

Today marks the End Of Season Cup Day, which is the 45th Al Rayyan meeting and the final racing day of the season in Qatar. The season included a total of 22 meetings at Al Uqda Racecourse.
